What Is Contour TRL™?

Contour TRL™ stands for Tunable Resurfacing Laser, and it removes the outer layers of skin to reveal smoother, healthier skin beneath. The laser is adjustable, so our board-certified physician or nurse practitioner can customize the treatment to your specific needs. During the procedure, the laser is passed over the treatment area, removing damaged skin cells and stimulating collagen production. This acne scar treatment in Tampa is fully ablative, and patients can expect at least 2-4 weeks of downtime.

What Are the Benefits of Contour TRL™?

There are many benefits to choosing Contour TRL™ over other skin resurfacing treatments. For one, the laser can be adjusted to treat a range of skin concerns, from fine lines to deep wrinkles. This treatment is usually performed in our office with local anesthesia.

Contour TRL™ also stimulates collagen production, which can help improve your skin's overall texture and tone. Collagen is a protein responsible for providing structure and support to your skin, but production naturally decreases as you age. By stimulating collagen production, Contour TRL™ can help your skin regain a more youthful vibrance.

Who Is a Candidate?

Contour TRL™ is safe for most people who are in good overall health and looking to improve the appearance of their skin. However, it may not be suited for everyone. Our clinician will evaluate your skin type and medical history to determine if Contour TRL™ is safe for your skin.

What to Expect During Contour TRL™

The Contour TRL™ procedure is a type of laser resurfacing treatment that uses a high-powered laser to remove the top layer of skin. You will be given a local anesthetic to numb the treatment area during the procedure. The laser will then remove the damaged skin cells, leaving behind a smoother, more youthful-looking complexion.

The procedure typically takes around 30-60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area. You may experience some discomfort during your treatment, but the anesthetic should help to minimize any pain.

After your procedure, your skin will be red and swollen for several days. You may also experience some peeling and flaking as the skin heals. Keeping the treated area clean and moisturized during the healing process is essential. You must avoid sun exposure for at least several weeks, and once the skin is healed, wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 to protect your skin from further damage.

It is also important to avoid picking at any peeling skin or scabs, as this can lead to scarring. After the healing process is complete, you should notice a significant improvement in your skin's appearance. However, it is important to maintain a good skincare routine to maintain your results.
